World Of Tanks Console Will Enter The Cold War Era Later In April
World of Tanks is skipping forward a few decades in its timeline. Wargaming today announced the Modern Armor expansion, which will take the WW2-era tank game into the Cold War for its players on Xbox and PlayStation.
The update comes on April 27 and will add "some of the 20th-century superpowers, most iconic modern tanks," such as the American M1A2 Abrams and the Soviet T-72BM. It will also add new maps for both the World War II and Cold War eras, and the modern tanks will be cross-playable on PlayStation 4 and 5 and on Xbox One and Xbox Series S|X.
Other features coming in the update include artillery-free battles and consumables such as smokescreens. Learn more about the update on the World of Tanks console site.
The addition of the new era doesn't spell the end of development for the game's earlier era. Italian heavy tanks are coming to the game soon, and more tanks and tech trees are planned for the rest of the year.
