In memory to the 80th anniversary of D-Day, World of Warships has a week planned with special events and a video documentary detailing the operations of the Naval Combat Demolitions Units on that day. That unit is known today as the Navy SEAL team.
The premiere of this special documentary will take place on the strategy game's Twitch channel during the 4th annual Longest Night of Museums stream on June 1st at 16:00 UTC. It will also premiere on MagellanTV June 4th. It will be available for viewing afterward on both Twitch and YouTube.
Here's the trailer for the special.
During the World of Warships Longest Night of Museums stream on June 1st, we'll also get a look at the HMS Belfast, the only surviving example of a German torpedo ship. There will be special Twitch drops of course, and special guest appearances.
In-game you can also expect three new Operations coming to World of Warships alongside the brand-new Normandy Port. Each Operation will last two weeks, and the new battle type will allow up to six players to compete in a Division helming Tier V-VII ships. Players will earn Stars in these Operations which can be used to unlock special progression tracks holding special rewards, including historical Commanders, camouflages, and patches. The first Operation kicks off on May 29th.
