World Of Warcraft Developer Blizzard Donates $1 Million To Direct Relief To Support California Wildfire Relief Efforts

It's very fitting since Southern California is where it all started for Blizzard.

The California wildfires continue to wreak havoc and impact the lives of many in Southern California. Many companies and organizations have donated time, money, and resources to assist in recovery efforts and now World of Warcraft developer Blizzard has joined in those efforts.

In a tweet mentioning the company's roots in Southern California, Blizzard announced that they will donate $1 million to Direct Relief. The funds will be used to, "support Direct Relief’s efforts in providing immediate and long-term aid and resources to impacted residents, community health centers, and first responders."

In addition to global humanitarian relief programs, Direct Relief has been partnering with local Calfornian health centers and and clinics in the area to assist is offering medical services and products to impact residents. According to the Direct Relief site, "100% of donations to Direct Relief’s wildfire response fund directly support efforts to assist individuals impacted by fires in Palisades, Altadena, and across California, providing critical aid where it’s needed most."

We echo Blizzard's sentiments in their full blog post, "Our hearts remain with those affected, both in the immediate need for relief and the continuing journey toward long-term recovery. "
