World Of Tanks Gets A New PvE Mode And Other Events Commemorating The 80th Anniversary Of D-Day
A day that changed the world gets remembered in game with a series of events.
On June 6th, 1944, the landscape of World War II changed dramatically with the Allied landings in Normandy. This moment has been recreated many times over in film, television, video games, and a slew of other media.
Today, World of Tanks gets in on the 80th anniversary of the D-Day landing with a number of events kicking off in the strategy game.
First up, World of Tanks is launching a new PvE mode called "Operation Overlord" and a new battle pass. If you want to see what the team has to say about the anniversary, you can also catch a live stream on June 8th from the LCT 7074, the only known surviving Landing Craft Tank in the UK.
Solo players can take on a single-player event in World of Tanks that's inspired by the Operation Overlord event. Command the M4A3E8 Sherman tank and help clear the beach for your forces, but mines and other challenges will make things a bit more difficult.
Want to learn more about the anniversary? World of Tanks has you covered there, too. A new interactive map taking you through events of the landing and rewarding you along the way.
