World Of Tanks Blitz Anniversary

It’s been ten years since World of Tanks Blitz launched on mobile devices, with three nations and eight maps. These days, the military strategy game is available on multiple platforms, including PC, macOS, and the Switch, with full cross-play and cross-progression. It also has more than 500 tanks, 11 game modes, and over 30 maps.

According to Wargaming’s stats, there are over 180 million people playing this game. Of course, the press release doesn’t specify if this is just how many accounts exist and if they’re taking into account folks with more than one account. Still, when it comes to online gaming, 180 million is a lot, no matter how you look at it, so is the over $1 billion the game has pulled in.

In honor of the anniversary, Wargaming is celebrating all summer long. The developer has something planned for each month: June, July, and August.

In June, players will have a chance to win a new Tier VIII tank during the birthday event, as well as some favorite Tier X tanks. They’ll also be able to claim a special container with the Blasteroid tank, a themed avatar, and a profile background. Just grab that container before June 30.

In July, players can look forward to a space-theme party with the return of “Objective: Sheridan Missile”. There will also be a special collaboration with a (currently unnamed) sci-fi movie franchise.

Finally, in August, the Mad Games event will return for ten days. Players can also enjoy the seniority awards and look forward to a “totally epic (and secret)” gift to close things out.
