With A Wishlist 600,000 Strong, Delta Force: Hawk Ops Heads To PC Alpha On August 6th
Yes, there will be other classic Delta Force maps getting the "remaster" treatment along the way.
It seems gamers have been eagerly awaiting a chance to check out the latest addition to the Delta Force series as Delta Force: Hawk Ops has crossed over the 600,000 wishlist barrier this week. The upcoming, F2P, first-person shooter recently completed a technical test and they're finally ready to take it to the next step. That next step will start with a PC Alpha currently scheduled to start on August 6th. The FAQ says this test will be for NA and EU and will include both the Havoc Warfare (large-scale) and Hazzard Operations (smaller squad-based matches) multiplayer modes.
If you would like to try to get in on the action, you can sign up on the site, keep an eye on Steam for giveaways, and watch the team's social accounts and look out for Twitch drops. According to the latest "Ask Shadow Anything" video, "Shadow" (the game's producer and director), says these are all the places you can expect to get a chance to play.
The video goes on to answer quite a few questions players submitted in the Delta Ops Discord. Other items of note discussed in the video are battle passes (yes, there will be a free and a paid tier), Operators (these are your characters and no, the game won't become a hero shooter), and cosmetics (they'll all always adhere to the game's current day, military style.)
As for seasons, Delta Force will feature seasons that are 2-3 months long and the team is already working on Season 4. Seasons will add new maps, new Operators, new weapons, and more. The very cool thing about the new maps, at least for me as a Delta Force fan, is that yes, classic maps from the franchise will be getting remastered treatments. I love the way they are going about this, though. The team gets to vote on their favorites and those are the ones that get the revamp first. Maps also feature a 24-hour clock and weather system, meaning that each time you are out and about, it could be a different time or set of weather conditions.
I've included the full video below and there's a few other tidbits in there for those of you curious about the mobile and console versions and the game's anti-cheat system plans.
