Wayfinder's Echoes Update Gets Approved For PS5 Release, Coming Next Week Along With QoL Update 2
The date for the PS4 version to be discontinued will come later.
PlayStation 5 Wayfinder players can finally breathe a sigh of relief, Sony has approved the title's "Echoes" update for release on the console and the team at Airship Syndicate is prepping to push things next week. While PC players have been playing the revamped Echoes experience since June, this will be the first chance for console players to see how the game has been reworked from its initial F2P plans into the now premium product post-Digital Extremes exiting as the publisher.
The announcement came via X and it has led to a few common questions from players so let me address the prime questions here for you:
- No, if you bought the Founder's Pack on PS5, you don't have to pay anything for the Echoes update.
- Yes, Wayfinder is still planning a release on Xbox consoles later this year.
- No, Wayfinder will not be F2P anymore, it will instead have a box price and no cash shop.
- Yes, the PS4 version will be discontinued at some point, but that date has not been decided yet.

- Yes, Wayfinder will once again hit the PS Store for new customers to purchase.
- No, cross save/progression isn't a thing.
In addition to the Echoes update on console, Wayfinder will also drop the Quality-of-Life 2 update on both PC and PS5 next week.
