Warhammer 40K, Darktide’s “Unlocked & Loaded” Reinvents The Game’s Itemization And Finally Adds Party Finder
Players now have more freedom to experiment with weapon progression.
A new, free Warhammer 40,000: Darktide update was released by Fatshark today. Titled "Unlocked & Loaded," the update overhauls the co-op shooter’s itemization system, making big changes to weapon progression by introducing the Mastery and Power systems. Mastery requires players to use their weapons in missions to gain experience on its Mastery track. The Power system allows players to improve weapon stats by spending resources at the Shrine of the Omnissiah.
In addition to the itemization overhaul, Unlocked & Loaded introduces the new Operations mission type. Operations missions are shorter and more cinematic. The first of these missions is “Rolling Steel” which tasks players with stopping a hijacked train.
Party Finder now also exists in the game. It will allow players to find groups based on game mode, difficulty, language, and assorted tags that define the group. The devs plan to adjust the new feature based on player feedback.
Finally, the update also brings with it a limited-time special event, “Unrelenting Hordes”. The event runs from September 26 to October 10, during which time, players will need to retrieve Grimoires and Scriptures from the Infected Moebian 21st. Doing so will earn players in-game currencies.
