Warhammer 40K: Darktide Opens Its Three-Day Closed Beta For PC Players Over The Weekend
The hive city awaits.
Developer Fatshark has kicked off a three-day closed beta test for their upcoming 4-player co-op action game, Warhammer 40K: Darktide. Those who sign up and gain a beta key can jump in right now on Steam, Windows PC, and GeForce Now over the weekend.
Within the beta test, PC players will trek inside the hive city known as Tertium and battle hordes of enemies while learning an evolved Vermintide-styled combat mixing melee and range. In addition, fans can try out the new class archetypes: Veteran: Sharpshooter excelling in ranged encounters and the madly aggressive in-your-face Zealot: Preacher.
This weekend's beta is Fatshark's first large-scale test, so expect hiccups here and there. As for fans who never signed up, you can try your luck by requesting access from the Steam store page. Fatshark aims to let more players in throughout the weekend, but for those unlucky, content creators streaming Darktide will maybe have keys to give away.
As a heads-up for our readers, I'll be joining the beta test and analyzing what I can about its combat for my next weekly Game Design Spotlight! If you're interested in reading my thoughts, you can expect it later in the day next Tuesday.
