Wargaming Announces Plans For World Of Tanks VR
Wargaming, the developer responsible for World of Tanks -- as well as other "World of" games -- announced today that it has been working with VRtech to form Neurogaming, a new VR gaming provider with in-house technology. Of course, this being Wargaming, it's only natural that the first game being developed under Neurogaming will be a VR verson of World of Tanks.
In a recent press release, World of Tanks creator Slava Makarov notes that Neurogaming's VR experience will be more affordable and accessible, due to it being location-based.
“Moreover, unlike any other developer, our biggest aim is to change the experience from one-time involvement to a long-term engaging story with co-op and competitive elements. Working with the Word of Tanks IP and creating an experience for its 180 million community is a massive and exciting opportunity for us.”
The new company will be based in Nicosia, Cyprus while development will take place in Moscow. There are already 75 employees ready to get to work on the VR project and the company has plans to expand to offices in Europe and the United States this year.
