Warframe’s “Unannounced Fall Update” Finally Has A Name
A deep-dive of the Japanese-inspired update is scheduled for the Tokyo Game Show.
If you recall, Digital Extremes teased an “Unannounced Fall Update” for their MMORPG Warframe at TennoCon, promising to provide players with more information later. Well, it seems they just really wanted something to announce at Gamescom this year, and this was it. We now know that the update is inspired by Japanese culture and named "Koumei & the Five Fates." According to the press release, it explores the ‘societal idea of protecting “good fortune”’.
When the update arrives, it will introduce a new deluxe skin for one of the three original Warframes, Volt. The skin is “thunder god inspired”.
In addition to the update name and skin announcement, Digital Extremes and animation arthouse The Line offered Gamescom attendees a look behind the scenes of the anime short for Warframe: 1999. This included character concept art for Protoframe Lettie.
