Warface Will Add Console Cross-play "Soon," Citing "Technically Complex Mechanics"
Warface will soon be getting cross-play functionality across all it platforms, My.Games announced today. The brief news post on the Warface site said that it hopes to get console players -- PlayStation 4 and Xbox One -- playing together by the "middle of the fall," with Switch players joining the party at an unspecified later time.
Arranging cross-platform battles requires "technically complex mechanics, and it takes a lot of time to make them work," the post said, which probably explains why the move hasn't been assigned any particular date yet. That could also be why it's taken so long in the first place; Warface launched on Sony's and Microsoft's consoles two years ago. On the other hand, it just hit Nintendo's earlier this year, which probably explains why Switch players will have to wait a little longer for this functionality.
