The beta for World of Warcraft's upcoming The War Within expansion is already underway. Thanks to this weekend's Xbox Showcase, we now know that the first expansion for the MMORPG's planned Worldsoul Saga trilogy of expansions drops on August 26th, and we've even snagged a new trailer to set the wheels of the expansion into motion.

We still have to wait a bit to get information on when the expansion's pre-patch times will be to see exactly how much of a "4-day" head start players who pre-order certain bundles get, as World of Warcraft usually fires with a 3-day lead, not a 4-day one.

Launch time on the 26th will be a 3 PM PDT. Realistically, though, you can probably expect a few challenges if you try to log in right then. This early access, listed as 3 days on the game's sales charts, is only included in the Epic Edition of The War Within, which will run you $89.99.

In addition to the launch reveal, let's take a look at the "roadmap" for The War Within.

Launch of The War Within already comes with a new level cap of 80, a new allied race in the Earthen, and we'll see a new piece of PvE content called "Delves" which allow players to take on smaller world instances alone or in groups of up to 4. After launch, we'll head into Season 1 and the launch of the expansion's first raid on September 10th. Get ready to head into Azj-Kahet and take on the nerubians.

We don't have much longer to wait to see if Warcraft's gambit into this expansion pays off, but we'll be sure to keep you updated on any new announcements.
