Warcraft 3 Multi-Player Mod Legion TD 2 To Officially Launch On Steam October 1
Players can pick up the game now in Early Access.
A popular Warcraft 3 mod has made the jump from…well, mod…to a standalone game that has already sold 150,000 copies on Steam before launching. Legion TD 2, is a multiplayer strategy game that takes the original mod and adds on new units, abilities, game modes, and everything else players would expect from a standalone game. That’s a pretty big jump for something that started out as a high-school student’s pet project over a decade ago.
Although it should be noted that that pet project was an incredibly popular Warcraft 3 mod, second only to DotA. It was also one of the first competitive games with automated combat and one of the inspirations for autobattlers such as Auto Chess, Teamfight Tactics, and more.
Legion TD 2 features eight playable factions and over 100 unique units that players can use in 2v2 and 4v4 matches. The game also offers both a single-player and a co-op campaign to help teach players the basics, including core systems and strategies, and it features global servers for cross-region multiplayer.
Legion TD 2 is available to purchase in Early Access now. However, you may want to wait until it officially launches on October 1st if you’d like to save about $5 as there will be a 20% launch discount.
