Voice Actor Of Final Fantasy XIV’s Count Edmont De Fortemps, Stephen Critchlow, Passes Away
The actor is also known for voicing characters in Big Finish productions such as Doctor Who.
British actor Stephen Critchlow, a man most on this site would probably best know for his role as the head of the Fortemps family in Final Fantasy XIV’s Heavensward expansion, recently passed away. Critchlow is one of those actors who appeared in a wide variety of media ranging from theater to videogames and even Big Finish audio dramas including Doctor Who and Torchwood. His television and movie credits include Fantabulosa! and Downton Abbey.
As far as video games go, his voice can be heard in World of Warcraft, The Witcher 2, Xenoblade Chronicles 2, Dragon Quest Heroes, and, of course, Final Fantasy XIV. In the Heavensward expansion he played an important role, with he and his family helping the heroes in their hour of need and taking on the role of a father figure. He also narrated the entirety of the expansion and is loved by players for his (albeit somewhat formal) kindness.
In fact, players loved him so much that vigils have been being held outside Fortemps Manor in Ishgard.

When not acting, Critchlow was involved with charity, including a fundraiser he created last year to raise money for the NHS. For those who might like to donate in his honor, the fundraiser is still available on JustGiving.
