Vindictus No Longer Supporting German Localization
Yesterday, January 11th, the Aes Sidhe Update was pushed for DEVCat and Nexon's Action RPG Vindictus. While the update obviously added a lot of things, it also took away something -- localization support for German speakers. According to the official statement from Nexon, the company has been paying a great deal of attention to "language usage" for the game and as a result have noted that a "very low percentage" of players use German. So, it apparently seemed best to eliminate something that was taking extra work but didn't offer a lot of benefits to players.
"As localization into an additional language presents additional challenges (such as translation inconsistencies between the English and German versions), we decided that the best course for Vindictus would be to focus only on a single language."
The statement does add that already localized content will remain, but from now on, anyone using the German language option will receive their content in English.
As for the content being added this update, there are three new events to participate in:
- Kick Aes Sidhe - Rewards players with a title and emblem for clearing the new raid, ends Feb. 7
- Gallagher's Dice Game - ends Jan. 31
- Nilfheim Domination - Ends Feb. 21
Patch notes for the update can be found on the Vindictus site.
