Vigor Delves Into Personal Stories In Today's Update
Learn about "merciless assassin" Adam while exploring a new map, Kjerstin.
The post-apocalyptic Norwegian setting of Vigor would seem to be one that's ripe for opportunities for storytelling that go beyond just the simple battle royale and shooter gameplay. Bohemia Interactive thinks so, and the latest update delves into those stories, dishing out a heaping helping of lore to go along with the usual slate of new areas and weapons.
Vigor Chronicles: Vengeance marks a shift in content delivery for the free-to-play console title. Instead of seasonal chapters, Bohemia will now focus on telling individual stories with each update, revealing information about the world and lending a more personal touch to the action. In today's update, you'll learn about Adam and discover the clues that led him to becoming a "merciless assassin" -- apparently through a series of cassette tapes because, hey, the apocalypse took place in the 1990s, before CDs were commonplace. Be grateful you don't have to tote vinyl around.
Those are available in the free portion of the battle pass; the paid version equips you with Adam's iconic gear. Meanwhile, all players can enjoy the new shootout map, Kjerstin, as well as the L85A1, tactical flash grenades, and visual improvements for Xbox Series X, PS5, Xbox One X, and PS4 Pro.
