Veterans Online Officially Launches -- Not On Steam Just Yet
Today's a big day for indie developer Nuked Cockroach, which announced today that its free-to-play shooter Veterans Online has officially launched via the company's website. While the game will come out on Steam "soon" (Q1 2020, according to the press release), it's not there yet. So anyone wanting to play now will have to forgo Valve's client.
Among the more traditional features available with the game's launch, Nuked Cockroach has decided to include Twitch integration tied to daily missions. Players can either stream or watch streamers who are playing the same mission to earn currency that can be used to buy in-game cosmetics. According to the developers, these missions are designed so that they will even benefit smaller streamers.
At launch, the game features two game modes, Territory Control and Capture the Flag. More modes will be made available in the future.
For those wondering if they'll be able to play the game in their region -- and their language -- Veterans Online has been localized into 25 different languages. These include Arabic, Czech, Danish, Dutch, English, Finnish, French, German, Greek, Hungarian, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Norwegian, Polish, Portuguese (Brazil and Portugal), Romanian, Russian, Spanish (including Latin American), Swedish, Thai, Turkish, and Vietnamese. Honestly, it seems like the most languages an online game has been localized to at launch.
