Vampire And Werewolf Companions Aren’t Off The Table For The Elder Scrolls Online
The ESO devs answer player questions about the game’s companion system.
Back in May, The Elder Scrolls Online team asked for player questions about the Companion system. Now, a few months later, they’ve finally gone through all of them and prodded the appropriate people for answers. These were shared with the community on the game’s forums today.
It’s worth noting that similar questions were compiled together, so if you submitted one and don’t see it in their post, that’s probably why.
The post itself is pretty sizeable, but the devs posted a few select ones on Steam. Among them is a question about Sharp’s Jel identity – answered a bit vaguely, because, you know… story. Some players asked about having Bastion and Mirri updated with new dialog and quests. The devs do have ideas about revisiting them, but again were vague. If you’ve ever wondered about how they decide on dialog for these companions, there’s a bit about that too.
There were more technical questions, such as whether or not they’d consider putting a “stand here” command in the game. Based on the answer, it seems like they feel like the trade-off to do that doesn’t balance out right now.
For the monster fans among you who have been waiting for vampire or werewolf companions… there’s a chance. They’re “not off the table”. That said, there aren’t plans to increase the companion release rate right now, so it may be a while before we see them in the MMORPG.
