Valve's Deadlock Gets 4 New Heroes, Expanding The Roster Is A "Major" 2025 Goal
There may be a bit more "placeholder" art on the new characters right now.
Valve's Deadlock continues marching towards...well, I don't know what the "early in development" shooter is currently marching towards actually. It's currently in a "testing" phase, but it will eventually have to get to an early access or launch, right? With Valve, who knows actually.
Anyway, if you're in the game's testing, you'll have a few new heroes to start messing around with as you roam the streets of New York. Four new heroes have been introduced as the team aims to make roster expansion a "major" focus for 2025. "Expanding our roster is one of our major goals in 2025. While some of these characters have a much higher degree of temporary art than usual, we are excited to see how they perform on the battlefield," reads a post on the game's Steam page.
Since the heroes are being added a tad earlier than previous heroes have been, expect a bit more "placeholder" art for the time being. Valve is just eager to see how the heroes hold up in game.
Here's the team's breakdown of the four new heroes:
- HOLLIDAY - Armed with an heirloom revolver and a spirit lasso, Holliday's investigations have led her to New York... and when she finds the killer she's looking for she's bringing him in dead, not alive.
- VYPER - Did you know that when you slide your gun has infinite ammo? Vyper does. That’s why you’ll find her sliding around the battlefield spraying lead and poison.
- THE MAGNIFICENT SINCLAIR - Mystify your rivals with combat tricks so vexing that they won’t believe their eyes! Summon a spectral assistant, polymorph foes into rabbits, and turn the enemies own abilities against them! Impossible? Not for THE MAGNIFICENT SINCLAIR…
- CALICO - A feared assassin; Calico uses the shadows to her advantage, weaving in and out of combat to hunt down her enemies one by one. More importantly, you can possess her sphinx Ava and run around as a cat.
