Valorant's First Official $100k Tournament Kicks Off Next Week
There's just one week to go until the qualifiers for First Strike, the first official Riot Games-produced Valorant tournament, kick off and there's $100,000 on the line. It starts with an open qualifier on Oct. 26, where 128 teams will be whittled down to 16 over the course of four days. They'll compete the next week until four teams emerge, and then another open tournament will fire off the next week, starting Nov. 11, with a second round starting Nov. 18, leaving four more teams standing. Those final eight will then go at it for the grand prize on Dec. 3-6.
The first two rounds will be produced by Nerd Street Gamers, and you can watch the action on their Twitch channel. The next two rounds will be put on by UMG Gaming, whose Twitch can be found here. All rounds of competition, including the finals in December, can also be found on the official Valorant Twitch and YouTube channels.
If you'd rather play than watch -- and you have the skills to match -- you can register for either of the two open qualifiers (Nerd Street's or UMG Gaming's) to take a shot at the winnings. Learn more about the First Strike tournament on the Valorant site.
