If you've been building the vampire of your dreams in Stunlock Studios' V Rising vampire survival game since launch, you've likely taken advantage of the myriad of additions to the armor, cosmetics, and character tools the team has added to make you look perfect.

The look isn't all there is to being a vampire, though. If you look exactly the way you think a vampire should look but you don't quite play like you think a vampire should, things can feel a bit disjointed. In the newest blog from the devs, it's time to look ahead at some of the ideas Stunlock has to rectify the situation.

The end result? It looks like Stunlock has plans to massively overhaul the game's biggest RPG elements.

The changes boil down to two key changes, one for stats and one for blood.

On the stats front, right now you can literally stack your favorite stat as high as you want. This has led to things like Movement Speed being jacked up so high you can barely be hit by anything. Stats will get "Soft" and "Hard" caps. This should encourage players to actually use gear and other improvements (including the upcoming Fusion Forge that will allow Legendary changes) to achieve a more balanced build based on all the stats they personally want, rather than simply HAVING to stack the most important stat...even if they don't like playing that way.

The soft cap can be exceeded by things like temporary buffs that still give you improvements, while the hard cap means you can go no higher.

Blood has to change on this front, too, then. How will they do this? Well, first the team is rebalancing what types of blood are available from certain targets. After that balance pass, players will get a "Blood Mixer" tool that will allow you to mix and match your favorite blood's stats with the special ability from another blood type. Again, it's about letting you mold your vampire to your desired performance.

The full post teases a third change...but the team isn't quite ready to reveal anything on that front just yet. We do know it could have something to do with the fellow in the image above, though.

This is all still in development and could certainly change, but it all sounds good so far. What do you vampires out there think?
