Utilize Brains Over Brawn In "Future Strike," A New Time-Limited Event For Battlefield 2042
Downed soldiers become OV-P Recon Drones, providing intelligence to their teammates.
A new time-limited event for Battlefield 2042's Season 7: Turning Point has been revealed.
In "Future Strike," players engage in a global conflict for vital resources, featuring the Mandate of Nations and the emergence of the Thousand Petals Coalition. Joint Task Force 7 represents a beacon of hope for the EU forces, tasked with securing crucial Arkangel weather stations against Coalition threats. The event will be available in the shooter from May 28 to June 10; it immerses players in high-stakes squad tactics, emphasizing teamwork and individual skill to secure victory, according to the developers over at DICE.
The gameplay of Future Strike centers on squad-based combat, where 4v4 or 8v8 engagements demand strategic coordination and adaptability. Downed soldiers become OV-P Recon Drones, providing intelligence to their teammates, and rounds are fast-paced — lasting only 90 seconds, with Shock Rounds introducing locked loadouts to test players' adaptability. Squad compositions are restricted to one Specialist too, encouraging strategic character selection.
Then in Strike Team mode, which is available across various maps, players must analyze enemies, capture objectives, and employ counter picks to win. The introduction of the OV-P Recon Drone emphasizes the importance of information, allowing players to support their squad mates and gain a competitive edge. Future Strike also introduces new gear and rewards.
