Ubisoft Isn't Ready To Set Sail Just Yet And Delays Skull And Bones Again, This Time To March 2023
I mean, if you didn't see this coming I don't really know what to say.
It's been nothing but rough seas for Ubisoft's Skull and Bones for a long time now. Being initially revealed in 2017, delayed from 2018 to 2019, delayed again to 2020, and then again to 2021...and then landing on a November 8th 2022 release date, which was today delayed again until March 9th 2023.
The announcement came via a press release and Ubisoft's Twitter account and stated that while the game was "finished" (sure it is...), based on feedback from their internal tests and Insider program, the team wants more time for that age old excuse of "polish."
Honestly, the game probably isn't ready but even if it were, getting away from God of War: Ragnarok's November 9th release date probably isn't a bad idea for any game...particularly one that has the shaky roots and the first Ubisoft $70 price point that Skull and Bones carries.
This does still mean that Skull and Bones will be counted in this year's fiscal stats for Ubisoft when everything is said and done...for what that's worth.
Sorry, Captains, you'll have to wait a bit longer to set sail, but seriously, wait for reviews on this one, please. Alternatively, you could try out the open beta the team says is still coming soon.
