Ubisoft Confirms Its PvP Game "Project Q" Is Cancelled To Shift Focus On "Priority Projects"
"We will no longer support the developer of Project Q."
Following the cancellation of three unannounced video game projects and a hairy strike situation brewing at their Paris branch, Ubisoft has confirmed its PvP game "Project Q" is no longer in development.
The developer decided to cancel the project to shift "focus on priority projects, to which [their] teams are being reallocated" for further support. News of the cancellation came from a Ubisoft spokesperson who confirmed to VGC that Project Q got shuttered.
While not many details on the game have reached the public eye, it was going to draw inspiration from Overwatch and Knockout City for its art style, undergo ongoing testing, and present an "innovative and modern PvP battle arena" experience.
Leaked footage of the game seemed similar to Fortnite, however Ubisoft stated Project Q wouldn't be a battle royale title. Regardless, this one won't be heading to any game device, so we'll never know what could have been.
