Travel The Gold Road And Scribe Yourself Up Some Spells, It's Expansion Launch Day In The Elder Scrolls Online
Scribe up some spells and grab a free multi-rider mount for doing so.
Update 42 has kicked off in The Elder Scrolls Online today for PC users. This means that the MMORPG's Gold Road expansion has also been unleashed. Console players will have to wait until June 18th for both, though.
Gold Road adds the West Weald zone, an area located along Cyrodiil’s southwest border and neighboring Valenwood and the Gold Coast. What is normally an area best represented by the word "wealthy", the West Weald has a bit of a new and unexpected problem. Daedra are all over the place and part of the zone has become a wildly overgrown jungle causing the local Wood Elves to migrate.
The new zone comes with everything you expect, too. Delves, side quests, public dungeons, they're all there. Group content such as new dungeons and trials have also been unleashed. Kick off the new main story by teleporting to the zone's first Wayshrine on your map, kicking off the main quest from your Collections tab, or selecting it as your desired starting zone after completing the tutorial.
Perhaps the most fan-desired portion of the expansion, though, is the Scribing system. Unlocking and leveling Scribing allows players to customize their own spells to a certain degree, opening up more ways to customize your character's build. If you manage to complete the 6 primary Scribing skill quests before the MMO's 10th Anniversary celebration ends on July 1st (for PC), you can score a multi-rider mount.
In addition to the Gold Road expansion, Update 42 also brings a stack of improvements and bug fixes to the base game. These updates include improvements to in-game mail and the MMORPG's environmental impact. All of these updates are available to all players, not just those that purchased Gold Road.
Hit up the patch notes for all the nitty gritty.
