First Confirmed Trans Character Comes To Fortnite As Superhero Dreamer Joins The Battle Royale
Will we see more CW heroes after Dreamer?
Debuting alongside Fortnite's second annual Rainbow Royale Pride event is transgender superhero Dreamer from the Arrowverse series' Supergirl TV show. Their arrival makes them the first confirmed character as transgender in Fortnite.
Dreamer, or Nia Nal for those familiar with the CW television series, will be available in Fortnite's Item Shop after a Zero Build Squads tourney. In the meantime, players can collect free LGBTQ-themed cosmetics, such as a drag-inspired death drop emote, a new lobby music track, a loading screen, and more. Also, Nicole Maines, the TV actress for Dreamer, will be streaming Fortnite as the superhero next week to celebrate the character launch.
This announcement was unexpected, even more so because Dreamer is the first new DC character to arrive in Fornite in over a year. There are more Marvel characters than DC, which understandably makes sense judging from all the superhero flicks coming out, but maybe Dreamer will spark some DC love.
