Top-Down Shooter Veterans Online Launches, Offers Twitch Integration For Added Rewards
Tunisian developer Nuked Cockroach has launched free-to-play top-down shooter Veterans Online. You can pick it up now on Steam for nothing or spend $10.71 -- a 33% discount from its usual $15.99 price -- on the Beasts of War pack which lets you don a cat, pig, or gorilla head. Now if the U.S. Army would just approve that kind of headwear for soldiers in the field ...
Veterans Online offers 5v5 battles where players can use a variety of weapons, from rifles to bazookas, and Nuked Cockroach isn't limiting its innovation to the game itself. Streamers can earn bonus currency via daily missions from Twitch and pass those rewards on to their viewers. The missions are designed so that you don't need a huge audience to benefit from them, letting even smaller streamers join in on the fun.
Also impressive is the wide range of language support being offered: Czech, Dutch, English, French, German, Greek, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Polish, Portuguese (Brazil), Russian, Spanish, Thai, Turkish, Filipino, and Vietnamese. About all they're missing is Klingon and Elvish, and I wouldn't be surprised to see them coming in a future patch.
