Bungie To Compensate Artist It Accidentally Copied And TWID Covers Fishing, Bungie Day Giving Festival, And Known Issues
Check out the ponds in the Throne World, look forward to a festival in July, and hear from the Player Support team on current in-game problems.
Another week, another “This Week In Destiny.” You know the deal.
But first, it appears that Bungie is being accused of using a fan's art as inspiration in their recent cutscene. Artist Julian Faylona took to Twitter calling out the team and within 2 days the Destiny 2 team replied advising that a 3rd party that did the cutscene for them used the work as inspiration because they thought is was actual Destiny art when they searched it!
I guess that's quite the compliment. What's better, though, is that Bungie has reached out to the artist to apologize to them, credit them, and compensate them, as they 100% should.
We've discovered that an external vendor that helped to create this cutscene mistakenly used this art as a reference, assuming it was official Bungie art.
We have reached out to the artist to apologize for the mix-up and to credit and compensate them for their awesome work. https://t.co/Sqkg5tRHKj

Now to TWID!
Firstly, there is a tip for players to visit Hawthorne, as her people have discovered something in the fishing ponds in the Throne World. Players are encouraged to go fishing and see what they can find.
Secondly, Bungie announces the Bungie Day Giving Festival, which will take place on July 7. This year's festival promises to offer big incentives, prizes, and surprises. More details will be provided in a blog post on June 28, including information on how to register and what players can earn and win.
Thirdly, the Player Support team provided a report on known issues in the game. Some of the issues mentioned include challenges not progressing correctly, bounties not tracking kills, and certain items not functioning as expected.
Head over to the official website for additional details on what’s going on this week in Destiny 2.
