Things Get Ridiculous When The Devs Explain 80s Inspired “Adaption” Shooter Ascendant Infinity
The new lore video explains how players wound up in the post-apocalypse and (maybe) offers advice on how to survive.
By this point, you’ve all heard at least a little about PlayFusion’s 80s-themed shooter Ascendant Infinity – the one that dropped a sitcom opening trailer a while back. As funny as that trailer is, it doesn’t tell you a whole lot about the shooter’s lore. We know there’s a tree, giant mutant creatures, and a lot of 80s stereotype characters. We don’t know everything about how they all got there or why everything was built under one big tree – until now.
Today, the developers dropped… well… 2… videos explaining the game’s lore. The thing is that you only need to watch one of them. It’s just that which one you watch depends on how much you do or don’t enjoy hearing profanities. Since we know some people don’t, we’ll share them both below.
Before that, though, we also got a bit of an explanation as to what type of shooter Ascendant Infinity is. According to the press release, this game is an “Adaption Shooter”, NOT an extraction game. As it’s described, an adaption shooter features “an evolving, changing map with in-game events, deadly fauna and building configurations that randomize based on game modes, objectives, etc.” Some of you have likely already seen all of this in action during the game’s previous playtests.
