The World Of Warcraft Companion App Is Going Away When The War Within Launches
Say your goodbyes.
If you're a user of the World of Warcraft companion app, then it's time to start saying your final goodbyes as it will be fading into nothingness once The War Withing expansion launches in the MMORPG.
Blizzard announced today that the app, which let players stay connected to Azeroth when AFK by letting them manage auctions, send followers on missions, track world quests, and chat with in-game friends, would be going away once The War Within goes live.
The message from Blizzard was short:
"With the release of The War Within pre-expansion content update, we will no longer support the WoW Companion App. After this date, players will not be able to update, download, or use the companion app and its features."
"We want to thank everyone who has used the app as their companion for their adventures over the years!"
Obviously, there aren't exactly a ton of users on the app, or else it wouldn't be going away, but I'm sure there are a handful out there who are going to miss the connection to World of Warcraft the app provided. To those folks, we send our condolences.
