Neverwinter's Undead Army Gets a Trailer
Neverwinter has a serious infestation going on. It's lands are absolutely filled with the undead of all shapes and sizes. The large numbers of undead can partially be chalked up to historical events like the eruption of Mount Hotenow, and the subsequent loss in life, as well as the Spellplague which cause a significant rise in the undead around the Neverwinter region. However, the undead army continues to grow at a breakneck pace due to powerful necromancers like Valindra Shadowmantle, one of the games main villains, whose ultimate goal is the destruction of the living world and the ability to rule the Sword Coast at any cost.
Under her control, the usually aimlessly wandering undead are directed into a fighting force capable of overwhelming almost any opposition that stands in its way. Neverwinter's new trailer gives us a glimpse at the hordes we are tasked with slaying. These undead range from hordes of Ash Zombies and Blazing Skeletons, to powerful Wights which can suck the very soul out of anyone who was unlucky enough to cross their paths. I even think I saw a swashbuckling pirate zombie in there (every MMO needs a pirate). Naturally it is up to us players to turn the tide of battle and push those wishing to enslave all living creatures back into the Shadowfell from which they came.
The next beta weekend for Neverwinter is scheduled for this week starting on Friday, March 8, 12pm PST until Sunday, March 10, 11:59pm PST. My inside sources tell me we might even have some beta keys to give out before then so stay tuned!
