The Arcadion Launch Final Fantasy XIV

Today’s the day the Arcadion opens is Solution Nine. Or, to put it another way, the first of the Dawntrail raid series has arrived in Final Fantasy XIV. This is the normal raid, Savage will drop in another week, so if you haven’t gotten your gear set for that yet, don’t stress.

Those looking to unlock the new raids will need to head to Solution Nine and look for the “Stylish Stranger”. If you finished the MSQ and watched the post-credit scenes, you’ll know what he looks like. This series is a coliseum storyline so the first quest is titled appropriately, “A New Challenger Appears”.

Speaking of gearing, this should be made easier by the fact that the raid dungeon “AAC Light-heavyweight Tier” will not drop gear, but instead will drop tokens players can trade for the gear they actually want.

Today’s patch (7.01) also makes several class changes. The job receiving the most love this time is Monk, with quite a few buffs to its abilities. Viper is next, with several of its abilities having had the range extended by an extra 2 yalms. Tanks will be happy to know that enmity has been added to two or three abilities on their jobs, depending on which job you’re playing. There’s also an interesting change for black mages where Umbral Soul is now acquired at level 35 instead of 76.

On an additional note, the new update also fixes an issue PC players of the MMORPG were having with DualSense controllers. If you’re one of those people and had previously adjusted your controller to deal with the issue, you may need to adjust it again.
