The New World Devs Get Cooking In The Latest Forged In Aeternum
The devs discuss reworking the trade skill.
The latest New World: Forged in Aeternum video is up, and this time the developers focus on trade skill reworks – or rather one trade skill rework: cooking. Recently they went in and simplified the trade skill, removing a lot of excess stuff and making it less complicated. This was the first such rework in the MMORPG, but it won’t be the last as they note that they chose to do this first because it seemed like the lowest-risk option to start with.
During the video, the devs answer player questions about the cooking trade skill and explain how some of the things they added later made certain features of the skill as it was no longer necessary. That said, not all the questions were about cooking specifically, and the devs also addressed some of the other trade skills, like armoring and weapon smithing, and their complications.
The video ends with a cooking competition segment that’s kind of cute. As always, you can watch the full video below.
