The New Final Fantasy XIV 10th Anniversary Special Site May Indicate When Patch 6.5 Will Drop
It’ll also help you keep track of all that anniversary stuff.
Early this morning, Square Enix launched a Special Site just for Final Fantasy XIV’s 10th Anniversary. Not everything on it is new. Some of it, like the Fat Chocobo giveaway, has already passed. That said, it’ll be a great source of information going forward. It offers details on things happening in the MMORPG and outside of it. And it looks like there will be more added as time goes on. The Sale and Merchandise sections are currently empty.
The site already offers information on contests and giveaways. The cloud mount giveaway will kick off on June 14, sand there are details on the various Fan Fest-related activities, concerts, and Crystalline Conflict championships – as well as a special 14-hour broadcast that won’t take place until Spring of 2024.
All that aside, players will probably want to pay attention to the in-game events. We know the date of the next Moogle Treasure Trove event – which means we probably know when patch 6.5 will hit. We’re not saying this is a 100% sure thing since the upcoming Moogle event is a “special” one, but it still seems pretty likely. The in-game event is scheduled to kick off on August 27 (at the same time as The Rising event). This event typically lasts a month and typically heralds the arrival of the next main patch. Based on the usual schedule, we’ll probably see 6.5 on either September 19 or September 26. This also makes sense because it would account for the next Live Letter taking place during the Fan Fest in Vegas at the end of July.
On an additional note, the XIV team also published another post about the upcoming Make It Rain Campaign. It provides a bit more detail on the event and includes pictures. Although… at the moment, the pictures all appear to be broken. However, based on the text, I may have been a bit wrong about the Godbert minion in the last post. This one mentions his “final form”. So… it seems like Mini-Godbert may be just as clothing adverse as the real one.
