The Miracle Producing "Grace" Currency Goes Live In Pax Dei This Week When "Market Square Part 2" Drops
Fast travel is still going to have to wait, though.
In mid-December, Pax Dei dropped the first portion of the MMORPG's Market Square update. The patch finally made gold somewhat useful seeing as prior to this, Mianframe hadn't added anything for players to do with the bit of gold they may find out and about on monsters. In an effort to create a truly "player-run" economy, gold and the creation of market stalls or even entire market districts aims to give players the ability to create all the items available in Pax Dei. Selling those items to other players becomes the economy.
When that update was originally announced, a new "Grace" system was revealed with it. However, that system was not added when the "Part 1" portion actually did launch.
Players will finally get to mess around with the Grace system later this week when "Market Square Part 2" is added on January 23rd. While the maintenance for the update is expected to last about 8 hours, there is no planned wipe happening with the update's launch.
How does "Grace" work? Well, it's a currency you can gather in one of two ways. The first method actually has players a little concerned despite Mainframe trying to address their concerns. It's primarily farmed by logging in each day. Players don't seem to like the precedent this sets as it creates a "I have to login" feeling. Grace is also region-based so all characters on the same account in the same region share a Grace pool. The second method of acquisition is to spend that gold you're making selling things. You can trade gold for Grace each day with diminishing returns throughout the day. The "returns" reset each day.
That said, you can really only use the Grace to perform two "miracles" in the update. You can give profession skills a buff or make gathering yields higher for a time.
Eventually, Grace will be used for fast-travel, too. This is one aspect of Grace that players have been really waiting on, but they're going to have to wait a bit longer. Fast-travel will not be added in this update.
Make sure to hit up the patch notes when they are posted later this week.
