The Lord Of The Rings Is Coming To Magic Arena In New Crossover Event...But Not Soon
Eventually...like later next year eventually.
For the first time ever, one of Magic: The Gathering’s Universes Beyond crossovers is going to make the jump to the online card game Magic Arena. While several crossovers have occurred in the physical card game already, and it has a Doctor Who set coming next year, Magic Arena will be getting a different bit of love in the form of a Lord of the Rings crossover. In Q3 2023, The Lord of the Rings: Tales of Middle-earth will be introduced to the online card game.
The Magic developers have offered players a look at what’s coming, including 18 new cards that will be included as part of a booster. Put together, the cards make up a larger image of the Battle of the Pelennor Fields.
The devs also showed off some additional art, including Frodo with the ring and Gandalf facing the Balrog. According to a report on PC Gamer, the art is based on the books rather than the movies or games.
