If you've spent any time at all trying out NEXON's new looter-shooter, The First Descendant, it wouldn't take you long to feel the inspiration games like Warframe, Destiny 2, The Division 2, and others had on the title. Sure, games in this genre always share some similarities, but The First Descendant clearly tries to imitate some of the premier titles in the space.

Some have thought that the similarities have been a bit TOO close, though. In a piece over at Forbes, Paul Tassi took note of some of their own observations regarding icons in The First Descendant and some weapons found along their journey. Combined with the observations of others, it appears that there was more than just a "loving homage" to Destiny 2. Some weapons were very, very similar and some icon in The First Descendant appeared to be almost totally unchanged from their Destiny 2 counterparts.

Since the publication of Tassi's piece, NEXON has reached out to the author with a statement that confirms their love for Destiny 2 while also committing to making some changes on things that may be too similar.

"We have taken the concerns raised seriously and decided to make adjustments to ensure that the imagery that may appear similar clearly reflects the unique identity of our game," the dev team states.

Imagine that, when something could, maybe, potentially get you in legal trouble, the game gets changes pretty quickly. Intentional or not, this is clearly the right move.
