The First Descendant Blasts Onto Consoles And PC On July 2nd, And I Can't Wait!
Looks like the looter shooter will make its "Summer" target release window.
I've been eagerly awaiting The First Descendant. Don't get me wrong, I'm not thinking about the looter shooter as "the next big thing" in gaming. However, I've enjoyed games like Destiny 2, Warframe, The Division 2, and the like, and there's always room for another good title in the genre, in my opinion.
In a few earlier tests, I found the game enjoyable, but certainly lacking in a few places. While certain instanced missions were fun, there didn't seem to be a lot going on in NEXON's fields. Not having loadouts in this type of game was weird, and there were other aspects of the game that just felt off.
As the team closed in on their "Summer 2024" launch window, the team said they were really feeling the pressure to deliver. They added content to fields, added loadouts, and kept reporting back on how they were actioning player feedback. It gives be a bit of hope.
This is NEXON, though, so there's always a chance that monetization of the F2P title could ruin things for me.
We'll find out soon as The First Descendant will release on July 2nd for PC, PlayStation 4/5, Xbox Series X|S, and Xbox One.
