The Division 2's Next DLC Gets Delayed Again, Will Not Arrive In Year 6
Which do you think will come first? The Division 3 reveal or the DLC launch for The Division 2?
Look, we all know it's been an absolute mess over at Ubisoft lately. Just yesterday we reported on an additional 185 layoffs at the company, layoffs that included the shuttering of an entire studio. Given the situation, today's news probably won't come as a surprise to The Division 2 players.
The looter-shooter's DLC, which was previously delayed into 2025 as part of plans to overhaul the game, is being delayed again...this time in a very vague way.
Via a tweet on the game's X account, the team announced that the planned DLC will not be released anytime in Year 6 of the game. Year 6 launched in June of last year so that means, at minimum, we won't see any new DLC until the back half of 2025.
Seeing that The Division 3 was announced in 2023 and the team was being ramped up at that time, it'll be interesting to see which gets announced first: The Division 3 reveal or a release of DLC for The Division 2.
Why the delay? Yeah, that's just a vague.
"We know you are eagerly awaiting the release of the upcoming DLC. To ensure we deliver the best possible experience, we've decided to take a little extra time to refine it, therefore the DLC will not ship during Year 6," reads the message.
Season 3 is still slated to be released on February 25th.
