Texas Chainsaw Massacre Won't Have Offline Bot Mode Like Friday The 13th Did
To bot, or not to bot, that is the question.
The developers of the Texas Chainsaw Massacre game may not be bringing over every feature their previous game, Friday the 13th, had available. When speaking with MP1st recently, they were asked about the offline bots that were part of the Virtual Cabin offline mode in Friday the 13th. While this feature may have been popular in the previous game, Texas Chainsaw massacre is looking in a different direction.
"We did not consider offline bots for this title," Texas Chainsaw Massacre developer Gun Interactive told MP1st. "We learned a lot from Friday the 13th and the time that is required to make a feature like that. Believable bots in games are incredibly time consuming and difficult to do well. This would have cut our main game features back dramatically, thus impacting the overall experience we wanted to create. That was our focus. Push the asymmetrical horror genre forward as much as possible. And that comes from an unwavering goal of creating a unique PvP experience steeped in the world of The Texas Chain Saw Massacre."
It's not really surprising to hear that there won't be an offline mode in a game so heavily focused toward online play like Texas Chainsaw Massacre, though I'm sure there were a handful of folks hoping for a bots mode to help them learn the game at least.
Texas Chainsaw Massacre is scheduled for release on August 18 for PC, Xbox One and X|S, and PlayStation 4 & 5.
