TERA Launches Secrets And Shadows Update, Confirms Console Version
The free-to-play action combat MMO TERA is headed to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One according to a recent job listing from Bluehole Studio's recruitment page. The listing -- discovered by MMOCulture -- states that Bluehole is seeking a "Technical Lead" to help bring TERA to both systems. The individual who lands the job will help to establish console development, create console friendly combat, and add content that will appeal to console players.
The company seems to feel that TERA's particular combat style lends itself to consoles and should attract new players, despite the game currently being five years old.
In addition to the news of work being done for a console version, the most recent update launched today. Secrets & Shadows, which introduces the Ninja character class and flying mounts, has been made available to all players. Those interested can log in now and continue the story line that began with Fate of Arun.
We've reached out to En Masse Entertainment for a comment about the console version and will update you when we receive word from them.
UPDATE: EnMasse responded to our request for information this morning -- effectively with a lengthy "no comment."
“While En Masse doesn’t speculate on rumors, our parent company Bluehole is always exploring new and exciting avenues with their games. There is no official announcement at present to make about the future of the TERA franchise, but we look forward to continuing our adventures in the world of TERA as much as our fans do.”
