Originally launched in 2011 for PC, 2018 for consoles.
TERA is shutting down -- in Japan.
That was the announcement posted yesterday on the official account for the Japanese localization of the MMORPG, which, in translated form, stated:
"Thank you for using TERA on a regular basis. The service will be terminated on April 20, 2022 (Wednesday) at 8:30. We would like to express our sincere gratitude for your support."

The link in the tweet is not currently accessible, but Famitsu has additional details regarding the closure, including a quote from publisher GameOn:
"We have held close discussions with the developer Bluehole Studio and decided that it will be difficult to provide a service that will satisfy our customers in the future, so we decided to terminate the service."
Patch 114 will still release as scheduled on January 26, adding a new dungeon, new equipment, and skill changes for slayers and archers.
TERA launched in Japan on PC in August of 2011 and went free-to-play in February 2013. A console version followed in 2018.
