TERA Console Tweets That A DPS Meter Is In Development, Will Take Time To Release
It isn't often that you see MMORPGs actually develop in-game DPS meters. When it comes to TERA, PC players have been using tools like Shinra Meter for a while without concern...at least until that whole TERA vs 3rd Party Applications issue occurred back in 2017. Things have since calmed down a bit on that front, though.
TERA PC players do have a built in DPS meter but it is very limited both in where you can use it and what features it details. The meter can be used in training dungeons and really just clocked in the overall DPS for you, micro breakdowns aren't available. This also says nothing of console players.
Enter TERA Console's Twitter account where late at night here East Coast time, they tried to sneak in a tweet about developing a DPS meter for console players. They tried to sneak it in, but I found it! Now they do mention that it won't be soon as it is still being developed, so you have a wait in front of you for this one. What remains to be seen though is exactly how expansive this DPS meter will be. If it's anything like the one integrated into the PC version of the free-to-play MMORPG, then it probably won't be used much at all. TERA Console's Twitter did follow up with me to say that this is at least a "from the ground up build, not a port of the PC TERA DPS meter, so at least there's that!
Something to watch for, I guess!
