Tencent Teams Up With Amazon For Ring Of Elysium Tournament
Today, Tencent and Aurora Studio announced a new online Ring of Elysium tournament, the Amazon Cup. The tournament is a joint project involving -- you guessed it -- Amazon, created for competitive players in North America and Europe. Qualification begins today and runs through August 6. Those who earn a spot will be able to battle for their share of a $60,000 prize pool ($30,000 for each region) and the Ring of Elysium championship title.
There will be two regional championships. Europe's will take place on Saturday, August 10. America's will follow on Sunday, August 11.
For their part in the tournament, Amazon will be using the GameOn APIs to integrate the competition into the game and power the tournament. Players who participate in the Amazon Cup qualifiers using GameOn will also be eligible to win in-game rewards such as pendant skins and player outfits. There's also a chance to win real-world goodies like laptops.
