Tankfest Raises Over €62K With The Help Of World Of Tanks
The Tank Museum's annual Tankfest event may have been cancelled, but with the help of World of Tanks they managed to pull off an impressive virtual version of the event, pulling in over a million viewers for the event. The event ran from June 26 to June 28 and boasted more than 34k concurrent viewers at any given time -- which is 10k more people than normally watched Tankfest shows prior to lockdown.
Of course, the event wasn't just about entertainment. A big goal was to raise funds for the Tank Museum. The museum recently reopened after being closed for three months due to COVID-19. During that time, it was unable to bring in funds it would normally pull from having visitors, so the funds raised during Tank Fest are a big help. And this weekend's event raised €62.1k (over $73K USD) for the museum by selling over 10,000 Tankfest Charity Packages containing World of Tanks items. These funds will allow the Tank Museum to continue doing what it does best.
