Take A Friend Or Four On Your Adventures In Gielinor With Old School RuneScape's Group Ironman Mode
Requested by 80% of players -- and there's even a hardcore version.
Old School RuneScape can be dangerous, so Jagex is now suggesting you take a friend (or four). Specifically, Jagex has now implemented Group Ironman mode, allowing players to team up in groups of two to five in the game's grueling Ironman mode.
In RuneScape, modes are implemented only when they receive sufficiently high support from the fan base. In the case of Group Ironman, 80% of 140,000 players polled said they wanted to see the mode, which was the highest ever positive voting result recorded in OSRS's eight-year history.
As with normal Ironman, the goal is to set new records and rise to the top of the leaderboards. Unlike in normal Ironman, which is typically a solo effort, players in your group in the new mode can trade items between each other. You can recruit your group from a new island off the coast of the main Tutorial Island after casting the magic spell on the chicken. (Seriously.)
If your group is looking for the ultimate challenge, there's also Hardcore Group Ironman, in which the group has a limited number of deaths and will be changed into a normal Ironman group when that limit is reached. There are a lot of other fiddly rules to keep track of for the both modes, and masochistic players can view all the details on the RuneScape site.
