Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League Game Director Discusses Endgame Content And First DLC
"Why so serious?"
Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League isn’t even out yet, but let’s take a look at what the endgame looks like as early impressions are coming out.
In a Q&A session on the game’s official Discord, Rocksteady discussed the kind of content players will experience after beating the third-person action shooter. They also tested potential DLC plans; and by they, we mean Axel Rydy, the game’s director.
He described the endgame as a "constantly evolving" and "challenging" experience with themed districts featuring iconic DC characters. The initial focus is on Batman villain Bane, with three distinct Tiers of Infamy Sets centered around different ways of dominating enemies. There’s an emphasis on mastery of character abilities, traversal, talents, and mission mechanics, encouraging players to adapt their builds to overcome increasing difficulty levels.
Rydy explains that the chaotic and fast-paced nature of the game influenced the design of the endgame, which revolves around mission types providing a more predictable yet challenging experience. Brainiac, the antagonist, continues to evolve his forces throughout the endgame — requiring players to adjust their builds accordingly. Mission types include Incursion Missions and Killing Time missions. As difficulty levels rise, so do the rewards — with Infamy Sets and Notorious items earned at the highest tiers of the endgame.
Also, besides endgame content, he teased a Joker-themed DLC through an image that shows an upside-down newspaper clipping hinting at the Joker's appearance.
