Stunlock Drops Battlerite Royale Launch Trailer, Details Feb 19th "Big Patch"
On February 19th, Stunlock Studios' take on the battle royale genre, Battlerite Royale, will officially launch as a free-to-play title. In honor of the big day, the company has released a special launch trailer, which can be viewed below.
Interestingly, that's not all the company has planned for the Battlerite IP on the 19th. On the same day, they will release a major update for the entire franchise, aptly titled "Big Patch". This update will introduce Battle Season 1, map changes, new items, new Champions, and more.
Included in the new items available for those with a Premium pass are pets. The patch notes don't explicitly state what these pets do, but they will follow their owners into the Arena and around the island. That said, they could just be there to look adorable.
The new maps and characters mentioned above will appear in Battlerite Royale. Talon Island will feature two new areas, the Frozen Plateau and Trader's Islet. As for the new Champions, there are three: Taya, Oldur, and Pearl. Interested players can get a rundown of each of their abilities in the patch notes on the Battlerite site.
