Steel Hunters' Huge Mechs Lumber Into Early Access Tomorrow
The parade of mech games coming in 2025 begins with Wargaming's title.
Wargaming is ready to unleash the first of a few different mech-combat games set to release this year. Early access for Steel Hunters starts tomorrow, April 2nd at 7 AM EST. The F2P title sees players teaming up with a friend as 6 duos are transported to the battlefield to compete not only against each other, but also against various PvE objectives. The aim of the game is typical extraction gameplay. Gather resources and be the last duo to survive and extract.
Offering multiple Hunters to choose from, Steel Hunters aims to offer players multiple playstyles to choose from and the ability to customize both your loadout and your mech's appearance. Eschewing twitch-based shooter gameplay, these mech are massive and things can get very slow and strategic. Learn to read your opponent's actions and try to flank them or flee if the situation calls for it.
While more monetization will be added post-launch, early access will feature a few items up for sale if you'd like to support the devs. You will not, however, need to purchase a battle pass for early access. Wargaming is giving that away to all players in the form of a "Recompense Battle Pass." This pass will run through April 29th.
